You can contact us even if you do not have an account. Send privacy requests to support@thefamilyarchive.app. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
1. Controls available in the Service
In Account Settings, review the available profile, security, privacy, personal export and account-closure controls. Workspace owners and authorized editors can manage family members and available sharing settings. Other members must request changes through an authorized collaborator or support.
Before sharing publicly, review living-person details in narratives, images, captions and documents. Keep access limited to the people who need it. A change to online permissions cannot recall a printed book, a previously exported edition or someone else’s downloaded copy.
2. Make a privacy request
Email support@thefamilyarchive.app with the subject “Privacy request.” Tell us the action you want, the account email if relevant, and enough information to locate the record. For a public record, its page link is useful. You may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, an objection to processing or withdrawal of consent, as available under the law that applies to you.
You do not need an archive account to ask about information concerning you or a child you lawfully represent. An authorized representative can contact us and explain their authority. Do not send a password, full identity document or payment-card details in the initial request.
3. How we review requests
We confirm the request, use proportionate verification to protect people against impersonation, and may ask for clarification or evidence of authority. We respond within the time required by applicable law and explain any permitted extension. We do not unlawfully discriminate against people who exercise privacy rights.
Rights are subject to applicable conditions and exceptions. We may need to preserve legally required records, protect another person’s rights, or separate an account from a shared family contribution. Closing an account is not necessarily the same as deleting every record in a collaborative archive. We will explain any limit and available review or complaint options.
If you disagree with our response, reply asking for a further review. You may also complain to the relevant privacy regulator or exercise an appeal right where available under applicable law.
4. Sale, advertising and browser signals
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, including as those terms are defined by applicable California privacy law. No sale or advertising-sharing opt-out is therefore needed for our current practices. Necessary disclosures to restricted service providers and your own sharing instructions are described in the Privacy Policy.
The site currently has no optional advertising or analytics tracking to disable. A Global Privacy Control or “Do Not Track” signal does not change the functional storage needed for a requested sign-in session. If future practices create a legally required opt-out, we will provide and honor the applicable choices and recognized browser signals. See Cookies & Settings to manage local browser storage.
5. Report a privacy concern
If a page exposes private information, identifies a living person incorrectly, or includes a child’s information without appropriate authority, email support@thefamilyarchive.app with the page link and a brief explanation. Put “Privacy concern” in the subject. Avoid sending additional sensitive family material unless we ask through an appropriate channel.
Requests concerning a deceased person, disputed authorship or family ownership may involve different rights and evidence. We will review the circumstances rather than assume that any relative automatically controls the record.
